Got news last Friday that Love, War & Auditions was in the finals of the Stinkwater Short Film Festival being held at Coogee over the weekend.
The Top 12 films were screened and judged by a panel headed by acclaimed Australian film director Philip Noyce (Rabbit Proof Fence, Patriot Games, The Bone Collector, Dead Calm, etc)
Cash prizes were awarded to the Top 3.
I found out today from the organiser that while we didn't make the Top 3, we placed 5th overall, which I'm pretty happy with.
Because of the short notice, and because of rehearsals for Noises Off, I wasn't able to attend the screening, but according to the organiser LW&A was very well recieved by the audience of over a thousand.
LW&A is out to a number of other festivals, so hopefully this bodes well for at least a few more finalist screenings.
